Ranbir Kapoor plays it safe

This was done because RK felt if his film’s trailer was to come along with the festive releases of Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan’s films, it may not standout among the big sharks.
Ranbir met director Abhinav Kashyap and both have mutually decided to come with the theatrical trailer at a mega-event, a week prior the big-ticket releases. As things stand now, the first look of Besharamwill be tentatively unveiled on the 2nd of August, thus giving enough breathing space of a week to create curiosity for the film set to release a month later.
Says a source close to the film’s production, “Ranbir and Abhinav want Besharam to be the biggest event-film of the year. Which is why they don’t want their film’s first look to get caught up between the other two major releases.”
