Rajkummar Rao clarifies fee increase rumours after 'Stree 2' success

Rajkummar Rao has addressed reports claiming he now charges ₹5 crore per film following the success of 'Stree 2'. In an interview with Indian Express, he stated that he isn't "stupid to burden my producers" and emphasised that money is "just a byproduct" of his passion for acting.

The actor mentioned that he sees different figures reported about his fees every day, but he is not "stupid to burden his producers." He believes that being part of a major blockbuster won't change him as an actor, as money is merely a byproduct of his passion. He wants to work for the rest of his life and continues to seek out roles that surprise, excite, challenge, and help him grow.

Last month, Rajkummar Rao spoke on the YouTube channel Unfiltered with Samdish, clarifying that he isn't as wealthy as many assume. He stated, “Honestly, I don’t have as much money as people think, like ₹100 crore. I’m paying a hefty EMI for my house, so it's not like I can just walk into a showroom and buy a ₹6 crore car.” He emphasized that while he can afford a car worth ₹20 lakh, spending ₹50 lakh would require careful consideration.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, 'Stree 2' has surpassed ₹850 crore in global earnings, as reported by Sacnilk.com. It revolves around a villain named Sarkata, who terrorizes the residents of Chanderi, leading them to seek assistance from 'Stree'. Special cameos are made by Akshay Kumar and Varun Dhawan.
