Bollywood Desi Girl Priyanka Chopra recently hit headlines after she made some shocking claims against Bollywood. Soon after, she was followed by celebrities like Kangana Ranaut, Shekhar Suman, Amaal Mallik and others who not only came out in support of the actress but also expressed their anguish and shared their experiences. Priyanka Chopra, who currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband Nick Jonas and daughter Malti Marie, has often spoken about facing sexism and colour discrimination in Bollywood. In a recent interview with Dax Shepard on the Armchair Expert's podcast, the Desi Girl revealed reasons why she had to quit the Hindi film industry and move to the US. The actress claimed that she was pushed around in Bollywood. She had people not casting her, and she also had beef with influential people in the industry. According to her, she was not good at playing games and was tired of the politics.

After Priyanka Chopra, singer-composer Amaal Mallik also shared his own experience of being pushed to the corner in Bollywood. Taking to his Twitter handle, he wrote, ‘Well it's something that I face on a daily basis. When fans ask me why I don't do as many Bollywood films? Now you know ;) The truth about campism, bootlicking & powerplay within #Bollywood needs to come out more often...See what they tried to do to this amazing woman…(sic)’

Apurva Asrani also came out in support of Priyanka Chopra after the actress made some shocking claims against Bollywood. The National Award-winning editor took to his Twitter handle and wrote, ‘Finally Priyanka Chopra reveals what everyone knew, but said not a word. Not the liberals, not the feminists. They hail those that ostracized her, celebrate the kings that tried to destroy her. It is a massive win that she didn’t end up like Parveen Babi or Sushant Singh Rajput(sic).’

Shekhar Suman also joined the bandwagon of celebrities expressing their anguish against Bollywood. In a tweet, the actor revealed, ‘I know of atleast 4ppl in the industry who have ganged up to have me n adhyayan removed from many projects. i know it for sure. These ‘gangsters’ have a lot of clout and they are more dangerous than a rattle snake.But the truth is they can create hurdles but they cannot stop us (sic)."

After Priyanka Chopra’s shocking expose, Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram stories to share a picture with the ‘Quantico’ actress and wrote, ‘Truth remains Cruella has done big favour on us by bullying and isolating us, PC became a Hollywood star and I produced and directed my own film which is releasing this year.’ She also commented on an old remark of AR Rahman about a ‘gang’ in the industry working against him. She wrote, ‘Bolly kids grow up being obsessed with talent, their parents applaude their every word /move and they too start to believe that lie, until a really gifted person shows up, smacking them right in their faces and raising the bar high it challenges everything they ever believed(sic).’
