Pooja Bedi reacts after Shilpa Shinde admits sexual harassment case against Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain producer was 'false'
Pooja Bedi has strongly reacted to Shilpa Shinde admitting that the sexual harassment case she had filed against Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain producer Sanjay Kohli was false.
Shilpa made the revelation during a recent conversation with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa on their podcast, reigniting discussions around the misuse of laws meant to protect victims of harassment.
"Any woman who weaponizes laws meant to protect victims, be it for revenge, personal gain, leverage, publicity, or malice, is betraying the very cause those laws were created to serve. False accusations not only destroy innocent lives but also make it harder for genuine survivors to be believed. Such misuse of the law is unacceptable and must carry serious consequences," she said.
Pooja further emphasized that when laws designed to protect victims of sexual harassment and abuse are misused, it harms those who have genuinely suffered trauma and exploitation. According to her, false allegations weaken the credibility of legitimate complaints and create additional hurdles for genuine survivors seeking justice.
Explaining her decision to file the complaint, Shilpa said, "The case ended. Nobody knows this, and I'm not afraid of telling the truth. Even today, I will say this because it is a big thing. I filed a sexual harassment case against my producer because I had no other option. Eventually, I got out of that situation because the matter was settled. I filed the case on that basis because the police directly tell you that if you want an FIR registered, you have to make serious allegations."
Although the dispute between Shilpa and the producers was resolved years ago, her latest admission has once again drawn attention to the case.

Shilpa Shinde's admission sparks debate
Shilpa Shinde, who became a household name with the hit sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!, left the show in 2016 following a public fallout with the producers. At the time, she accused them of harassment and non-payment of dues. While the dispute was eventually settled, her recent remarks have brought the controversy back into focus.Comments (1)
