PM Modi cuts convoy by 50% for fuel saving: Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan or Vijay which celebrity has the largest convoy?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cut down the size of his official convoy as a sign of restraint and to save fuel amid the ongoing crisis in West Asia. This came after the PM asked citizens to use less petrol and diesel, work from home where possible, and avoid unnecessary foreign travel due to concerns about the global energy situation. The move has also started a bigger conversation about VIP culture in India, especially in Bollywood. Top stars are regularly seen travelling with long lines of luxury SUVs, bodyguards, vanity vans, staff vehicles, and police escorts when they step out for public appearances, film shoots, and promotions. Here’s the list of the stars who are often reportedly spotted travelling with large convoys due to security concerns, according to News 18.
2/6

Shak Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan is perhaps the most talked-about name in Bollywood when it comes to large public convoys. The actor's outings, be it film promotions or exits from his beloved home, routinely draw attention for the long lines of luxury SUVs, security vehicles, and police escorts that accompany him. The sheer size of his fan following makes such arrangements a necessity, and videos of his convoys going viral on social media are nothing new. The security around SRK is said to have grown even more intense after he received death threats following the blockbuster success of ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’. As of October 2023, the actor holds a Y+ category security clearance.

Salman Khan

Salman Khan's convoy stands out as one of the most heavily fortified in the film industry, a direct result of ongoing threats to his life from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The actor's security setup has grown considerably over time and now includes heavy police presence, armed personnel, escort vehicles, and a bulletproof car that was imported specifically to keep him safe. Every time Salman steps out for a shoot or a public event, the scale of his security detail is hard to miss, with paparazzi and media outlets regularly documenting the impressive convoy. In recognition of the severity of the threat, the Maharashtra government extended a high-level Y+ category security cover to the actor as of 2024-2025, a cover that reportedly involves at least 11 personnel.

Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan has always been known to travel with a good amount of security, especially during film shoots and big public appearances. While he may not have the flashiest convoy compared to younger stars, the huge crowds he attracts make security personnel and escort cars a must. However, big events like film premieres and KBC shoots naturally require more security around him. The Mumbai Police provides Amitabh Bachchan with X-category security, which includes two to four police constables assigned to him on a rotational basis.
5/6

Allu Arjun

Allu Arjun's public appearances have taken on a whole new level of security following the massive pan-India success of ‘Pushpa’. Event appearances, visits to the Hyderabad airport, and film promotions now regularly see the actor moving with multiple black SUVs, private guards, and police management teams to handle the enormous crowds he attracts. His convoy during the ‘Pushpa 2’ promotional activities became a particularly big talking point on social media. Beyond the security setup, the actor is also said to travel with a large entourage. And when it comes to his vanity van, Allu keeps it stylish with one highly customised and luxurious van aptly named Falcon.
6/6

Thalapathy Vijay

Thalapathy Vijay is another name that commands massive crowds wherever he goes, whether it is a public appearance, a political meeting, or a film event. Since launching his political party TVK and riding high on the success of films like ‘Leo’ and ‘GOAT’, Vijay's roadshows and public outings have become grand affairs, regularly featuring long lines of SUVs, security vehicles, and police escorts. Videos from Tamil Nadu showing highways packed with supporters accompanying his convoy during rallies and shoot schedules have frequently gone viral. With Vijay now making the transition from superstar to active political figure, the security and crowd-control arrangements around him have only grown bigger.
