Patralekhaa, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone: Actresses who personalised their bridal outfits

Marriage is one of the most special days in life. Much like for everyone else, it’s also a big deal for Bollywood celebs. While celeb weddings are always fancy and much-hyped occasions, they also serve as fashion lookbooks for those who want to stay updated about trends. And of late, Bollywood brides have got creative with their wedding attires. While some get the wedding date embroidered in their outfits, others add a personalised note to their look. From Priyanka Chopra to Deepika Padukone to Patralekhaa, here’s how these brides got creative for their wedding ensembles...

2/5

Priyanka Chopra

In 2018, Priyanka Chopra tied the knot with beau Nick Jonas in a grand wedding held in Jodhpur. The actress opted for a stunning Ralph Lauren dress for her white wedding. The dress grabbed attention with its intricate work alongside eight meaningly messages, such as 'Nicholas Jerry Jonas' (her husband's full name), '1st December 2018' (their wedding date), 'Madhu & Ashok' (the names of her parents), 'Om Namah Shivay', 'Family', 'Hope,' 'Compassion', and 'Love'. Her traditional red lehenga from the shelves of Sabyasachi, for the Indian wedding, was a personalised one with the names of her parents and husband Nick embroidered on the waistline of the skirt.

Patralekhaa

Patralekhaa and Rajkummar Rao got married recently in a private ceremony where Patralekhaa wore a classic red saree from the house of Sabyasachi. She added personalised elements on her red veil that read in Bengali script, “Aamar poran bhora bhalobasha aami tomaye shomporno korilam”. It translates to "I surrender my love-filled heart to you".

4/5

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh took the plunge and got married at Italy’s Lake Como. Following Konkani and Sindhi traditions, Deepika turned into a Sabyasachi bride in a red lehenga. She opted for a veil that had the popular Sanskrit inscription saying, “Sada Saubhagyavati Bhava”. It means "May you always be lucky as a married woman".

5/5

Hailey Bieber

Hailey Bieber and Justin Biber’s hush-hush wedding was filled with little personal elements. When the supermodel walked down the aisle in a Virgil Abloh off-white wedding dress, people noticed it featured several symbols such as arrows embroidered on it, each with a special meaning. Her long white veil read, ‘Till Death Do Us Part’.
