After impressing the audience with his stellar performance in 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' as Udaybhan Singh Rathore, Saif Ali Khan is all set to step into the shoes of another negative character. The talented actor will be going face-to-face with Prabhas in Om Raut's upcoming film 'Adipurush'.

Saif, who started his career with 'Parampara' in 1993 has gone on to deliver several blockbusters on the silver screen. The versatile actor, who is known for taking up challenging and entertaining roles, has always managed to do justice to his characters. While the news of Saif stepping in as Lankesh in Adipurush' has got fans excited, we take a look at the dark and negative characters which the skilled actor has essayed on the silver screen.

​Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior

Om Raut directorial 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' is a biographical action drama which starred Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol in pivotal roles. While Ajay managed to bring his A-game on as he stepped into the shoes of Tanaji Malusare, Saif who essayed the character of Udaybhan Singh Rathore, left the audience on the edge of their seats with his brilliant performance. The film turned out to be one of the biggest releases of 2020 and Saif's antagonist role also received a lot of praise from the critics as well.

​Laal Kaptaan

Saif Ali Khan shocked everyone when he decided to play the character of a Naga sadhu on the silver screen. Laal Kaptaan which released last year might have failed to excel at the box office but it gave us a glimpse of Saif's never-seen-before side. The versatile actor played the role of a bounty hunter called Gossain in the period-action drama which was based in the late 18th century.

​Omkara

The 2006 crime drama 'Omkara' helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj was an adaptation of Shakespeare's play Othello. Based in a city of Uttar Pradesh, Saif played the character of Ishwar aka Langda Tyagi and managed to win over the audience with his ominous persona. The film which also starred Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan and others, turned out to be a huge success and Saif even won several awards for his negative character as well.

​Adipurush

Saif has never failed to impress the audience with his versatile characters and is now all set to turn a ruthless baddie in Om Raut's upcoming period drama 'Adipurush'. Saif, who will be playing Lankesh in the film will be going face-to-face with 'Baahubali' star Prabhas. The film which is based on the triumph of good over evil is reported to go on floors in 2021 and expected to release in 2022 and this news has already got the audience excited.
