"Producers don''t have an option. After Diwali, there''s Ramzaan when Muslims don''t watch films. That''s why the rush," says trade analyst Indu Mirani.

Among the films the industry is looking forward to the Urmila Matondkar-starrer Pinjar, which has been acquired by 20th Century Fox for worldwide release. The Partition saga recently opened the international film festival in New Delhi and found favour with the audience.

"It''s an amazing film. I told (director) Dr Chandra Prakash Dwivedi not to release it during Diwali, since there are too many films around the time" Adarsh says.

The week is also crucial for star siblings. Kajol''s sister Tanisha makes her Bollywood debut with Sssshhh..., a murder mystery which analysts are looking forward to. "The promos look good, it''s a thriller and has a very young feel to it," Adarsh says.

Amisha Patel''s brother Ashmit -- will debut with Vikram Bhatt''s Inteha the same week. "The film with newcomers may not be able to sustain unless it''s really brilliant," Mirani says.

Also in the line-up is director N Chandra''s Kagaar, a hard-hitting portrayal of the police force. The film is generating positive buzz for its positive depiction of the police force, but Mirani says a realistic, dark film is ill-timed for Diwali, since people want to have fun.

With nine films around the corner, that should not be a problem.
