​‘Neerja’, 'Padmaavat', ‘Sanju’: Jim Sarbh’s most memorable performances

Jim Sarbh is among the best and most original actors from the Indian film industry today and Jim has performed some unforgettable roles that established the fact that he is not only a supporting actor but a scene-stealer as well and also his career demonstrates the way commitment and talent can bring an actor into the limelight even in minor roles.

​‘Padmaavat’

In this grand period drama by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Jim played Malik Kafur, a cunning and devoted lieutenant to Alauddin Khilji and his performance brought depth and complexity to a supporting role also it was widely praised for its charm and subtlety.

​‘Neerja’

This was Jim Sarbh’s feature-film debut, and he made it unforgettable. He played Khalil, one of the hijackers in the biopic Neerja. His chilly and menacing presence stood out, earning rave reviews and for this movie he received an award nomination for Best Supporting Actor and also won the IIFA Award for Best Actor (Negative Role), and a Screen Award for Best Male Debut.

​‘Sanju’

Jim portrayed Zubin Mistry, a drug peddler who influences Sanjay Dutt’s descent into addiction. Although a smaller part, Jim’s chilling and convincing performance added depth to the story and was warmly appreciated by audiences and critics.

​‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’

In this Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed biopic, Jim played Amin Faizi, a journalist who plays a key role in bringing Gangubai’s story to the public and even in a supporting role, his presence added depth and helped shape the film’s narrative.

In this mood-packed ensemble drama, Jim portrayed Brian, a character whose mere presence quietly changes the mood in a family that is on vacation as well as his subtle performance contributing tension and emotional depth to the story.
