Kamla Chhabra, mother of popular casting director Mukesh Chhabra, passed away on Thursday after a prolonged illness. She was 73. The Chhara family held a prayer meet for Kamla on Sunday to cherish her memories and celebrate her legacy of love, laughter, goodness and giving.
Many celebrities including Mukti Mohan, Nupur Sanon, Anup Soni and Mahesh Shetty were seen offering their condolences to the Chhabra family, their close friends and relatives.
Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Chunky Panday, Boney Kapoor, Rajkumat Santoshi, Sonu Sood, Rajkummar Rao, Kartik Aaryan, Sussanne Khan with Arslan Goni, Ashoke Pandit, Sanjana Sanghi and many others were spotted arriving at the venue.
Kamla was unless for the past three weeks and she was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for treatment. Her health deteriorated in the past three days, following which she lost consciousness. Despite their best efforts, doctors could not revive her. She breathed her last at the hospital.
The cremation took place at the Oshiwara crematorium on Friday morning. Several celebrities including Kabir Khan, Imtiaz Ali, Hansal Mehta, Sudhir Mishra, Sunny Kaushal, and Bhushan Kumar were seen paying their last respects. They were also seen consoling Mukesh who was seen crying inconsolably on his mother's loss.
