Mission Raniganj producers submit the film as an independent entry to the Oscars!

The film "Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue," starring Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra, has been receiving positive word-of-mouth and is being submitted independently to the Oscars. Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, the movie is based on the real-life 1989 incident in Raniganj coalfields and the courageous rescue of 65 miners by Jaswant Singh Gill.

Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue starring Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra in the lead has been generating a lot of positive word of mouth, which is evident from the rising box office collection. The makers have now gone ahead and independently submitted the film to the Oscars.
Mission Raniganj is based on a real life incident that took place in 1989 in Raniganj coalfields where 65 miners were stuck in the mine, and were rescued by the courageous act of Jaswant Singh Gill.

Even Akshay has called the film as one of his best films till date. Talking to Times Now Navbharat, he said, "It is not a commercial film. It has not earned as much as it should have earned. But I have come here knowing that the film has not done well, to own the film - and I have done some 150 films by now - and say that this is one of my best films."
Produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Ajay Kapoor, the film is directed by
Tinu Suresh Desai. Though this is not the first time for the Bhagnanis to have sent a film as an independent entry to the Oscar. Back in 2014, they had also sent their film Youngistaan which starred Jackky Bhagnani and Neha Sharma in the lead as an independent entry. The film did make it to the Oscar -list that year.
