'Metro... In Dino': Elated by her role, Neena Gupta told her daughter Masaba Gupta THIS about her character in the film

Actress Neena Gupta, who will soon be seen in the film 'Metro... In Dino', shared that she was pleasantly surprised to learn how important her role is in the story. In a recent interview, she said that since she shot her scenes in parts, she didn’t realize the full impact of her character. So when she found out her role was quite significant, she felt happy and thrilled.


Talking to IANS, the actress said, "We did it in small parts. In Mumbai, Calcutta, here and there. When I did the dubbing, I told my daughter, 'Masaba, my role is quite good. It is a big role. I thought it was a small role. I was very excited."

Earlier, actress Neena Gupta recalled a moment on the film’s set when she was all prepared to give her shot but was suddenly asked to go back to her van. She shared that director Anurag Basu is very instinctive and full of ideas, often making changes right up until the last minute before the camera starts rolling.

"Once we came on the set for shoot as the production team called us on the set. We were told to go back in the van, and that it will take some time. So I saw Dada in the hall where the shoot was going on. He went into a corner. And he sat there somewhere. So I asked, 'What happened to Dada?' The assistant said, 'He wants to think'. So suddenly he wanted to think about something," revealed the actress.

Anurag's fresh ideas
Neena Gupta shared that Anurag Basu carries the full script in his head and often brings fresh ideas right before a scene. She said the best part of working with him is his spontaneous style and on-the-spot improvisation.
