In a career spanning over 28 years,
Manisha Koirala has acted in many films across industries — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali and Kannada. The actress, whose last outing was ‘Sanju’ — the
Sanjay Dutt biopic with
Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role — will next be seen in the film, ‘99 Songs’.
Given her vast experience, have you ever wondered what Manisha’s favourite film of hers is? Well, while many of her films are special to her, ‘Dil Se’, the 1998 romantic thriller directed by
Mani Ratnam, is definitely one of her top favourites.
The movie, in which she played a suicide bomber, featured
Shah Rukh Khan opposite her.
Revealing her love for the film, Manisha took to Instagram and posted, “I m often asked which is my most fav film .. n often I don’t have answer as there are few that I treasure most .. and amongst them is #dilse for various reasons..for me this film is a poetry!! @iamsrk @arrahman @realpz #maniratnam #santoshshivam.”

While Manisha loves ‘Dil Se’, she is not a fan of the 90s’ Bollywood. In an earlier interview with Bombay Times, she had said, “I am sorry to say, but the 80s and 90s were mediocre times for Hindi cinema. We were too dramatic and loud. The line between art-house and commercial cinema has blurred now. Today, it’s more real. In a lot of ways, the quality is as good as what we see in the West.”
