RJ Bastar has received international appreciation following its special screening at the Cannes International Film Festival, where audiences responded warmly to its inspiring narrative and social message. Directed by Manish Manikpuri and produced by Pawan Kumar Singh, the film follows a tribal girl from Chhattisgarh who dreams of becoming a radio jockey despite poverty, social barriers and limited opportunities.

Set in rural India, the film explores themes of aspiration, resilience and self-belief, while shining a light on communities rarely represented in mainstream cinema. Audiences praised the film for its emotional depth, authentic portrayal of tribal life and its universal message of hope. Expressing his delight over the response, director Manish Manikpuri said, “The love and appreciation that RJ Bastar received from audiences was truly overwhelming. The film stars Chandan Roy Sanyal, known for Panchayat, alongside Chitrashi Rawat, Neha Sahu, Harsh Rajput, Sanjay Mahanand, Sunil Tiwari, Puspendra Singh, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Sangita Nisad, Aarti Nagre, Anunay Sharma and Aashish Jha.
