Mahima Chaudhry, who successfully battled breast cancer in 2022, recently revealed that TV star Hina Khan, also diagnosed with breast cancer, reached out to her for support. Hina, who is famous for her roles in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Bigg Boss 11, has received much love from fans for her positive attitude.
In an interview with India Today, Mahima shared that Hina called her soon after her diagnosis. She felt touched that Hina remembered her at such a crucial time. She advised Hina to get treated in India, reassuring her that India has all the medical facilities needed for cancer treatment, just like in America.
"I was the first person Hina called after she was diagnosed with cancer. I felt good that she remembered me at such a crucial time in her life. She was considering going to America for her treatment, but I told her that we have everything available here in India and that she can treat herself here,” Mahima said.
Mahima stressed that Indian doctors are highly skilled and suggested Hina stay close to her family and friends during treatment. "I convinced Hina to get treated here in India itself because let me tell you, that even in America, it’s Indian doctors who will be treating her. At the end of the day, it’s the same medicine, same doctors and the same treatment, and we have all of it now available in India. So why leave the country, the comfort of your family and friends and move someplace else?" Mahima added.
Hina is currently facing the challenges of undergoing chemotherapy for Stage Three breast cancer. On September 11, Hina had shared an update about her health, revealing that her 'Mucositis' is much better, and thanked fans for sending lots of love to her.
On the work front, Mahima is excited about her upcoming film Signature which is set to release on OTT soon. She will also be seen in Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Emergency'.
