shares his early childhood memories of Lohri festival. The singer reminisces how Lohri is a very beautiful and special festival for him, and how he continues to celebrate it with the same warmth.

Mehndi, who has produced many Punjabi albums and sung for Bollywood film songs, shares, "When we were young, we used to go to all neighbourhood homes and collect money to celebrate Lohri. We used to collect 10 paise and 20 paise coins from each home and then get corn and revdi for Lohri. The Lohri fire would be lit and we would all wait for new warmth and energy to come back in our lives as the days become longer after Makar Sankranti on January 14."

Mehndi added, "The environment, which becomes a bit gloomy and dull due to the onset of winters, becomes alive after Lohri. There is a positive vibe and cheer around. We also wait for the Basant - Spring season to bring energy and beauty to the nature around us."

The singer feels Lohri is special in many ways. He said, "My family and friends, we all get together for a meal and dance around the Lohri fire. We also make til laddoo, atta laddo, gajak and enjoy sarson da saag and makki di roti. This year, obviously, it will be a small celebration at home."

Daler being the king of Punjabi pop music, has sung many Bhangra songs and his songs are party anthems at weddings and big events.
