Liked Akshaye Khanna in 'Dhurandhar' as Villain? Now watch his comedy films on OTT this weekend

Akshaye Khanna has spent decades entertaining audiences with his unique mix of comedy and action. He doesn’t 'do' comedy the usual way. He walks into the frame with lots of confidence and grace. His style has always grabbed moviegoers' attention. Well, below down are his best comedy films that has been streaming on OTT.

Here are his five funniest films streaming right now

2/5

'Hulchul'

Picture this: Akshaye, in crisp white kurtas, plays Angar Chand, a law student who fakes love to end a decades-old family feud. He falls in real love with the enemy’s daughter (Kareena Kapoor) while pretending to hate her. Every time he tries to be romantic, his sarcastic tongue ruins it, and every time he tries to be angry, his eyes betray him. The scene where he confesses love during a fake elopement, then immediately backtracks with “Arre, acting tha sab!” is peak Akshaye – a man allergic to sincerity but drowning in it.Hungama (YouTube & rentals)The gold standard of Akshaye comedy. He is Nandu, a village bumpkin who lands in the city with one dream: to become rich without working. Paresh Rawal, Aftab, and Rimi Sen crash into his life, and lies pile upon lies until the screen itself feels dizzy. Akshaye’s straight-faced delivery of “Main toh mar hi jaata agar aap log nahi aate” while everyone screams in panic is comedy heaven. If you haven’t seen him run around in that red shirt yelling “Jeetu bhaiya!”, fix your life immediately.

3/5

'Dil Chahta Hai'

Not a slapstick comedy, but Akshaye’s Sid steals every frame he’s in. Older woman, younger man, silent heartbreak – yet he makes brooding look mischievous. The scene where he paints Dimple Kapadia’s portrait and smirks “Aap tension na lo, main artist hoon” is low-key the smoothest savage moment in Indian cinema. He turns melancholy into comedy just by existing.

4/5

'Mere Baap Pehle Aap'

Akshaye plays a responsible son trying to get his widowed father (Paresh Rawal) remarried, to his old flame (Shobana). Chaos, confusion, and Akshaye’s trademark “I’m surrounded by idiots” expression throughout. Watch him try to explain adult relationships to his father while internally screaming.

Bonus: the “Ishq Subhan Allah” song where he dances like he’s being forced at gunpoint.

5/5

'Tees Maar Khan'

Yes, the film is loud. Yes, Akshaye is the only calm in the storm. He plays Atish Kapoor, a flamboyant Bollywood superstar with zero chill and 100% self-awareness. His “I am bigger than Amitabh Bachchan” rant and the way he pronounces “Sheela ki jawani” like he’s ordering coffee is unintentionally the funniest performance in the entire movie. Only Akshaye can play a narcissistic star and still make you root for him. Although the movie flopped at the box office, there are some cute and charming moments in it.
