Lata Mangeshkar's demise: Javed Akhtar, Anupam Kher, Bhagyashree and others arrive to pay their last respects

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar left for her heavenly abode today after her health condition deteriorated on Saturday. She was 92. The ambulance carrying her mortal remains has left the hospital where she was admitted and will be soon reaching the singer’s residence, Prabhukunj.

Bollywood celebrities from the industry have started arriving at the Mangeshkar’s residence to pay their last respects.A while ago actors like Anupam Kher, Javed Akhtar, Ashutosh Gowariker and Bhagyashree were snapped outside the building.










Meanwhile, the security outside Prabhukunj has been beefed up, owing to the untimely demise of the singer.
Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar, Aditya Thackeray and many others were papped arriving at the Breach Candy hospital of Mumbai where Lata Mangeshkar’s mortal remains were kept.


The last rites of Lata Mangeshkar with full State honours will be conducted at 6:30 pm today. As per the latest updates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be arriving in Mumbai reportedly around 4:15 pm in Mumbai to pay his tributes to the Nightingale of India.

"I am anguished beyond words. The kind and caring Lata Didi has left us. She leaves a void in our nation that cannot be filled. The coming generations will remember her as a stalwart of Indian culture, whose melodious voice had an unparalleled ability to mesmerise people" tweeted the PM.
A two-day national mourning has been announced by the Government of India and flags on all Government buildings across India will fly at half mast.

Mangeshkar will be accorded a State Funeral.
