Soorma

’, based on the life of Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh has released in Pakistan on Friday and in Kuwait on Thursday. The film is inspired by hockey legend Sandeep Singh's life and has got clearance across all territories in Pakistan. What makes ‘Soorma’ rare is that it has got no cuts or mutes from the Kuwait censor board. It has been more than a decade since Kuwait released a film with no cuts.

Director Shaad Ali who has directed the movie said, “This movie is not restricted to Indian audience, rather people across the world will get inspired by Sandeep’s story. It is an inspiring story that recalls one chapter of our nation’s success in the field of hockey. As a director, I couldn't have been happier, to see my film receive clearance for release. It is probably after a decade that an Indian film will release in Kuwait without any cuts or mutes. It is heartening that our labour of love will be screened in Kuwait and in territories across Pakistan.”

Ace hockey player Sandeep was paralyzed for 2 years and had almost finished his Hockey career after the dreadful experience, but it was his determination and love for the game brought him back and he won several medals for our country. The film that features Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu, has been receiving positive feedback from the viewers since it released yesterday.
