Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

If you're a die-hard fan of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, you might already be aware that Karan Johar first offered his best friend, Twinkle Khanna, the role of Tina opposite Shah Rukh Khan as Rahul and Kajol as Anjali. Since Twinkle refused the role, Karan Johar approached many other actresses, including Karisma Kapoor, reported by the Times of India. However, even Karisma refused the offer. Then, the role of Tina fell into Rani Mukerji's lap, and the rest is history. This rejection might have came back to hurt her as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai went on to become one of the most influential Bollywood films of all time.

Asoka

Another Shah Rukh Khan film that Karisma Kapoor rejected was Asoka, states Times of India. While SRK was keen on signing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the character of Kaurwaki was offered to Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma's sister. Though the film received many great reviews, it did not do as well at the box office.

Hera Pheri

According to News18, Karisma Kapoor was very eager to work with the director Priyadarshan. The report added that though she was quite keen to work with the director, she turned down the offer because of "personal problems." The film also starred Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Tabu, and proved to be an all-time favorite. This could have also been a big mistake in her career as Hera Pheri is one of the most loved Bollywood films of all time.

Barsaat

Barsaat was a box office hit that launched the careers of newcomers Bobby Deol and Twinkle Khanna. However, prior to Twinkle Khanna, it was to star Karisma Kapoor as Tina alongside Deol. According to News18, Karisma had already shot for 20 days with Shekhar Kapur. Shekhar Kapur was originally attached to direct the film. However, owing to his differences with the producers over certain creative issues, the latter exited the project midway. The indefinite delay led to Karisma's eventual exit from the project.
