‘KGF 2’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, ‘The Kashmir Files’: Biggest blockbusters of 2022

After a dry spell of nearly two years, box office witnessed quite a few blockbusters at this year. From South dubbed ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ to a heartwarming ‘The Kashmir Files’ and horror drama ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ – it was a mixed bag of entertainment that ruled the roost this year. Take a look:

Yash starrer ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ created a rampage at the box office. The Hindi dubbed version of the film released on April 14 and has bagged the top spot in the highest grosses of 2022. ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ Hindi made a total business of Rs 427 crore at the end of its theatrical run. With this humongous figure, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ has established its massive blockbuster status.

The second highest grosser this year at the Hindi box office is ‘RRR’. This magnum opus helmed by SS Rajamouli made a lifetime collection of Rs 275 crore. NTR Junior and Ram Charan’s stellar performances were massively welcomed by fans at the box office. Going by the huge success of ‘RRR’, this film may be turned into a massive franchise.

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri directed ‘The Kashmir Files’ created a rampage at the box office. The heartwarming narrative about the exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits touched hearts. ‘The Kashmir Files’ managed to rake in Rs 246 crore at the end of its theatrical run and owned the third spot in the top grosser of 2022.

A lot was riding on this sequel to Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan starrer ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ (2007). And, Kartik Aaryan-Kiara Advani lived up to the expectations, which resulted in massive moolah at the box office. This horror drama has earned the fourth spot in the top grosser list with a total collection of Rs 177 crore and counting.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali delivered yet another magnum opus in the form of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Rustic backdrops and an engaging tale left the audience captivated. This Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn starrer earned a lot of praise and love from fans. The film earned Rs 126 crore at the box office, earning the fifth spot in list of top grosser of the year
