'Kalki 2898 AD': Deepika Padukone's ICONIC walk through fire scene sparks calls for 'Draupadi' revival

Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD' is winning praise online for its stellar visuals and story. Among the many highlights of the film is a scene featuring Deepika Padukone walking through fire. Fans taking to X to share their reactions have admitted that the scene left them with "goosebumps."

Now, the actress' powerful portrayal in the sci-fi epic has reignited interest in her long-awaited project, 'Draupadi'. Taking to their handles, fans called for the revival of the mythological drama that was set to feature DP in the lead.

Back in 2019, the actress announced her plans to star in and produce a film centred around the legendary figure of Draupadi from the Mahabharata. However, since the announcement, there have been no updates on the project's progress. Fans took to social media to express their admiration and hope for the "Draupadi" project to be revived. One fan commented, "So happy to read the reviews for DP. I am so proud. People specially talking about her eyes n walk. That's why I wish either Rajamouli, Nag Ashwin or Maniratnam make Draupadi with Deepika." Another fan echoed the sentiment, saying, "Deepika is getting such rave reviews. I hope this urges her to bring back that Draupadi project again."





'Draupadi' is envisioned as a retelling of the Mahabharata from Draupadi's perspective, a project that Deepika described as a "role of a lifetime."
