Kajol, Indraneil Sengupta, Ronit Roy: Meet the casts of the mythological horror movie 'Maa'

What was the last Bollywood horror movie that truly shook you? Well Kajol returns to the big screen with a fierce, emotional performance in Maa which is a mythologically charged horror-drama that sees a mother take on demonic forces to save her daughter, an ambitious attempt at keeping the audience glued and biting their nails. It’s visually ambitious, soaked in atmosphere, and gives Indian horror a rare, high-gloss treatment. The film leans heavily into folklore and faith, building a world where love and darkness collide. But beneath the striking frames and heavy symbolism lies a story that feels far too familiar. Maa tries to shake you, and sometimes it does but its predictable arc and emotional flatness keep it from truly delivering on its promise.
