Over the years, we have seen a host of celebrities bidding goodbye to social media owing to the same. The latest one to join the bandwagon is none other than Kajol. Here we take a look at celebs who took a break from social media.

Kajol became one of the latest Bollywood celebrities to announce a break from social media. Without sharing much details, Kajol wrote this in her latest Instagram as well as Twitter entry, "Facing one of the toughest trials of my life." She captioned it, "Taking a break from social media." The actress commands a huge fan following on social media and is often seen sharing pictures and videos of herself and her loved ones with her followers.

On the occasion of his 56th birthday in 2021, Aamir Khan announced that he is going offline. He penned a small note that reads, "Hey guys, thank you so much for all the love and warmth on my birthday. My heart is full. In other news, this is going to be my last post on social media. Considering that I am SO active anyway, I have decided to drop the pretence. We will continue to communicate as we did before. In addition, Aamir Khan Productions (AKP) has created its official channel. So, future updates on me and my films can be found there...Lots of love."

Karan Johar deleted his Twitter account by announcing that he is quitting social media to make 'space for more positive energies' The filmmaker took his fans by surprise as he announced his decision to go off Twitter. He wrote, '“Making space for more positive energies only and this is step one towards that. Goodbye Twitter!” The director had faced a lot of flak during the lockdown for promoting nepotism in Bollywood and has often been the target of trolls on social media. He still has his account on Instagram.

Sonakshi commanded a huge fan following on Twitter. She was often seen interacting with her fans through #SonaSays sessions. However, she surprised one and all after she announced that she is going off Twitter. She wrote, 'The first step to protecting your sanity is to stay away from negativity. And nowhere more of that than Twitter these days. Chalo I'm off-- deactivating my account. Bye guys, peace out. Aag lage basti mein... mein apni masti mein! Bye Twitter'. She remains active on Instagram.

Weeks after Aamir Khan shared with his fans that he is quitting social media, his Dangal co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh has followed suit. Fatima took to her Instagram stories and informed her fans that she will be taking a break from social media. “Taking a break from social media. Stay safe guys,” Fatima wrote. The actress is rumoured to be dating the Perfectionist of Bollywood. However, there has been no official confirmation about the same.
