Slumdog Millionaire sweeping the Oscars has not only made India proud but also left Rajasthan basking in its glory.
Whether it���s jewellery designed by a Jaipur-based designer duo, Rajiv Arora and Rajesh Ajmera, that was sported by Oscar winner AR Rahman���s wife Sairaa and other attendees or Ila Arun���s rustic voice that has created ripples globally with Ringa Ringa or Irrfan Khan���s short but soul-stirring act in the movie - it���s Jai Ho! for Rajasthan all the way to the Oscars.
���The Oscars proved to be that Jai Ho! moment for Indian jewellery. As an Indian, the win makes me feel extremely proud,��� beams Arora whose jewellery has been flaunted by many Hollywood biggies in the past, but this year is surely special for him too. ���The who���s who of Hollywood sporting Rajasthani jewellery indicates that their hearts beat for our craftsmanship and designs,��� says Arora, adding that the win would encourage more artistes to work in international projects now.

Agrees folk queen Ila Arun, ���It���s another proud moment for Rajasthan. The state possess a huge cultural connect that reflects in everything ranging from jewellery to music. In its unadulterated form, it has been charming international dream merchants for long. Whether it���s Rahman using Rajasthani artistes in his compositions, the wonderful performance of Irrfan or me lending the voice to Ringa Ringa, there are no two ways about it that Rajasthan has its contribution in Slumdog���s win. Heaping praise over Jaipur lad Irrfan, Ila adds, ���Irrfan is a talented actor and with the win, he���s become truly international.��� Talking about how much the Pink City has contributed to his growth, Irrfan had earlier told JT in an interview, ���It���s my birthplace and holds a special place in my life. Its touch, smell and experience is a part of my life. Moreover, when I was in college, the boring daily routine pushed me out of the city, thus kickstarting my journey as an actor.��� After SM���s super performance at the Oscars, Irrfan told a news channel in LA, ���It feels good, it���s fantastic. Audiences across Europe, America, everywhere have appreciated the movie. The film will lead to further collaborations between India and the world cinema. Jai Ho!���
