'It means the sounds that...': Mahesh Bhatt reveals Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor's daughter Raha's nickname and the meaning of her name
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s daughter Raha is undoubtedly one of the most loved star kids we have in Bollywood. Her grandfather Mahesh Bhatt recently opened up about what Raha’s name means, the family nickname they use for her, and how the little one is already getting her own space on film sets.
The Kapoor family in Bollywood is known for giving children cute nicknames like Chintu, Chimpu, and Daboo. When asked about a nickname for Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's daughter Raha, Bhatt told News18, “We call her Rahu or Raha. It means the sounds that elders make. But essentially, she is still called Raha.”
In a recent interview with Humans of Bombay, Bhatt talked about his granddaughter having her own space, a separate vanity van on film sets. He shared that even after Alia married Ranbir starred in bigger films, and became a mother, she chose to continue working in movies.
The filmmaker further shared that Alia recently went to Milan for a high-profile fashion event, with her daughter accompanying her. He also revealed that he, Amitabh Bachchan, and Alia shot a commercial recently. "I noticed there was a vanity set up for Raha. Alia said, ‘Why don’t you go and sit in Raha’s room, Papa?’ I didn’t want to disturb it. It felt like a nursery and almost looked like a temple," he shared.
Mahesh Bhatt concluded, "But that’s the way new-age heroines are—they work, parent, and attend high-profile events, all while carrying their babies with them."
