‘It gives me solace’: Priyanka Chopra performs puja during Diwali; gifts Indian clothing and achar to non-desi friends
Priyanka Chopra Jonas is a true ‘’ who has always been proud of her Indian roots, and she never misses a chance to celebrate them, no matter where she is in the world. This year, she brought the joy of Diwali to London, surrounded by her family and close friends.

Speaking to British Vogue about her favourite thing about Diwali, the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actress said, “(It marks the) coming together of friends, family, food and laughter. Also, just the joy of hope, as this festival is the victory of good over evil. Talking about which of her movies she would recommend to someone who has never seen her work, the ‘Mary Kom’ actress revealed a suggestion from her husband, Nick Jonas. She said, “I know this answer only because my husband (singer-songwriter Nick Jonas) recommends this movie of mine to everyone who hasn’t seen Bollywood movies. It’s Dil Dhadakne Do (2015), and most of my friends who haven’t been exposed to Bollywood really love it. Priyanka Chopra shares Indian traditions with her Hollywood friends
Chopra is keen to share her traditions with her friends abroad. She said, “I have a really beautiful mandir (temple) in my house, and we do pujas, especially on Diwali. A lot of my non-Desi friends join me for those pujas. Also clothes… I give a lot of Indian clothing as gifts to a lot of my friends. Chopra was most recently seen in the action comedy ‘Heads of State’, starring alongside Idris Elba and John Cena. She will next appear in the Hollywood movies ‘The Bluff’ and ‘Judgment Day’.
