Indian Police Force: Reasons to watch Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty, and Vivek Oberoi's thriller series

Rohit Shetty's cop universe 'Indian Police Force' starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty, and Vivek Oberoi has been making headlines right from the time of its announcement for all the right reasons. The much-awaited seven-episode series has finally been released on the OTT platform today, January 19, 2024.

Here we give you a rundown of reasons why you shouldn’t miss the film:

2/6

Intriguing plot

Rohit Shetty's cop universe is an ever-expanding franchise. This seven-episode action-packed series is a tribute to the Indian police officers across the country. The recently released trailer kicks off with a gripping premise: a spate of bombings is spreading panic across the national capital. It takes viewers into the chaotic world of the Delhi Police, grappling with a series of bombings by the Indian Mujahideen.

Sidharth Malhotra’s seen-before cop avatar

Sidharth Malhotra's character as DCP Kabir Malik's fearless 'Dilli Ka Launda' (boy from Delhi) in Rohit Shetty's 'Indian Police Force' has left fans amazed. He looks refreshing in a never-seen-before cop avatar. Recently, at the press conference, Sidharth shared that Rohit Shetty has larger-than-life sensibilities. Nobody presents Hindi film heroes the way Rohit does. The 'Shershaah' actor revealed that he had been chasing him for many years to collaborate with him. About two years ago, he got a chance to meet him.

Shilpa Shetty in Rohit Shetty's cop universe

Shilpa Shetty is all set to feature as Tara Shetty, the first female cop in Rohit Shetty's cop universe. In the series, she plays the character of ATS Chief Tara Shetty, a woman of strength, determination, and formidable power. While expressing her excitement about portraying Tara Shetty at the trailer launch event, Shilpa shared that she wouldn’t accept a role like this. She describes Tara Shetty as a "shero." According to her, there are heroes and heroines, but she’s a shero. She is pretty, she is badass, she is passionate, she’s compassionate, and she’s selfless in her line of work, and it’s all the qualities of someone whom you would put on a pedestal.

5/6

Rohit Shetty's debut in the digital realm

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, the master of high-octane cop action films, kicked off one of Bollywood's most beloved franchises with 'Singham' in 2011, starring Ajay Devgn. As the years rolled on, Rohit not only expanded the cop universe but also added some of Bollywood's biggest action stars. Now, he is set to elevate the cop-verse to new heights by venturing into the digital realm with the show Indian Police Force. It stars a stellar ensemble cast, including Vivek Oberoi, Nikitin Dheer, Shweta Tiwari, Sharad Kelkar, Isha Talwar, Mukesh Rishi, and other talented actors.

6/6

Larger-than-life action sequences

Rohit Shetty’s cop universe, Indian Police Force Season 1, is one of the most anticipated web series of 2024. The recently released trailer reveals a tonne of high-octane action as the trio embark on a high-stakes case. Reportedly, the show is packed with action sequences, shootouts, and chases but is unusually low on the thunder and high-pitched bluster one associates with the Cop Universe.
