Director Siddharth Anand is all set to strike the big screens with his upcoming film Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor. The movie is billed as a tribute to the sacrifice and patriotism of the Indian armed forces and it is set to release in theatres across the country on January 25. A day prior to its theatrical release, a special screening was held at the Yash Raj Studios for the industry colleagues.
The screening saw Hrithik Roshan's ex-wife Sussanne Khan arriving with their sons at the YRF Studios. Hrithik's girlfriend Saba Azad was also seen arriving with the actor's family members including his cousin Pashmina Roshan and sister Sunaina Roshan in the same car. Other celebrities like Raashi Khanna, Vaani Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana among others were also seen arriving at the venue.
Siddharth Anand is releasing Fighter on the first anniversary of his last directorial Pathaan, which marked the big-screen return of Shah Rukh Khan after five years and was the first Hindi blockbuster release of last year minting over Rs 1,000 crore at the box office worldwide. And going by the trailer, Fighter is high on action and patriotic fervour. It is loosely based on the Balakot airstrikes post the Pulwama attack in 2019.
