In 2008,
Tanushree Dutta had created quite a stir when she alleged that she faced sexual misconduct at the hands of her ‘Horn 'Ok' Pleassss’ co-actor,
Nana Patekar. And, a couple of days ago, the whole controversy resurfaced when the actress talked about the incident again. According to Tanushree, Nana had allegedly asked the makers of the movie to add a few lewd steps to a song featuring them.
Her claims have triggered the decade-old controversy yet again, with many doubting her intentions and accusations. At the same time, the actress also received overwhelming support from many quarters, including Bollywood actors like
Farhan Akhtar, Richa Chadha,
Sonam K Ahuja and Swara Bhasker.
Now, Tanushree’s actress sister Ishita has opened up on the ordeal faced by the family. She said that Tanushree is trying to set and example, and if any woman faces such harassment, they should not keep quiet about it. She also said that her sister had inspired her decision to join the industry.
Earlier, when talking to BT, Tanushree had said, “It’s not like I am speaking up only today. I spoke about it back then, and I also spoke about it several times in the last ten years. There are footages in the archives of news channels and newspaper articles that will corroborate my version of the narrative, but no one believed me then, no one stood up for me then and no one is doing that even today. However, my narrative hasn’t changed at all, because it is the truth. I was harassed by Nana Patekar and the goons that he summoned on the set. They labelled me unprofessional to hide their misdoings. I had to set the record straight. My spiritual leanings actually helped me heal from this episode. If you see a model, it’s so easy to assume she has no brains. If that was the case, I wouldn’t have become Miss India Universe and I wouldn’t have duly represented India internationally and then become a Bollywood actress.
