'Gadar 2' starring Sunny Deol, is all set to cross the 100-crore mark at the box office in just its first weekend. Gadar 2

Sunny Deol-starrer 'Gadar 2' has reportedly been declared a blockbuster hit, after earning around Rs 80.50 crore in just 2 days of its release. The movie, directed by Anil Sharma, has recorded the second highest earning for a film this year and is also set to entre the Rs 100 crore club on Sunday. With this, the film has not only surpassed the lifetime collections of 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha', but is also contending to become one of the highest grossing films of 2023.

3/8

Top Gun: Maverick

When Tom Cruise announced 'Top Gun: Maverick', the sequel to his '80s film 'Top Gun', the movie was expected to do well for a post-pandemic release. But even trade experts couldn't predict that the film would fly past the $1.5 billion mark. The original film earned $357 million when it hit the big screen in 1986.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2

Kartik Aaryan hit a new high in his career when he took over Akshay Kumar's Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise. The actor played the lead in the horror-comedy flick that went on to become one of the highest-earning Hindi films with a total collection of over Rs 250 crore. The original film that released in 2007, earned just around Rs 82 crore.

Spider-Man: Far From Home

Spider-Man: Far From Home, which marked Tom Holland's second turn in a titular role as the web slinger, made even more in revenue than it was expected to make. Swinging into theatres soon after the pandemic-indused lockdown, the film raked in an estimated $1.9 billion in ticket sales. This made it the third highest-grossing Marvel film, only behind Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

6/8

The Dark Knight

Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy got off to a shaky start with Batman Begins earning a meager $373 million at the box office when it released in 2005. The film's box office numbers were dwarfed when its sequel The Dark Knight hit screens and amassed over $1 billion in ticket sales. This remained as one of the highest-grossing movies of all time.

7/8

Dhoom 2

Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham got the Dhoom franchise off to a flying start in 2004, amassing over Rs 40 crore at the box office. However, just two years later, the sequel that added Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to the cast, saw collections shoot up to a whopping Rs 140 crore.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, the second installment in the adventure series, starring Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Kiara Knightley crossed the $1.06 Billion mark back in 2006.
