But as per a report that appeared in international media, Meghan’s parents

Doria Ragland

and Thomas Markle marriage was equally interesting. Johnson, Meghan’s uncle, told an international tabloid that the duo got married on December 23, 1979 when Doria was only 23 years of age. The wedding took place at a faux Indian temple.

The couple had chosen a Self-Realisation Temple at Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles as Doria was fascinated by alternative religions and yoga.

The temple, which was founded by an Indian yogi named

Paramahansa Yogananda

, had a faux-Moorish entrance and was a reflection of the yogi’s ideologies of meditation and Kriya yoga.

Brother Bhaktananda had presided over the ceremony in orange robes and declared Thomas and Doria man and wife. Brother Bhaktananda took this name after attaining the status of a Buddhist priest, his real name was Michael Krull. The meaning of his adopted name is bliss through devotion.

Doria Ragland is also a yoga instructor by profession.
