From 'The Warrior' to 'Inferno': A look at Irrfan Khan's Hollywood journey

Irrfan Khan, who won over the Indian audience with his versatile performances in Bollywood films, had carved a niche for himself in Hollywood as well. The National Award-winning actor, whose Hollywood journey kicked off in 2001 with 'The Warrior', followed it up with Mira Nair's 'The Namesake' with Tabu, and Wes Anderson's 'The Darjeeling Limited' which featured him alongside Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman. Thus began Irrfan's rise in the West. The actor went on to bag the Academy Award-winning film 'Slumdog Millionaire', and also shared screen-space with renowned actors like Tom Hanks, Andrew Garfield in the course of his career. 'Slumdog Millionaire'

Irrfan experienced his first taste of worldwide success when Danny Boyle's 'Slumdog Millionaire' won the prestigious Academy Award. Irrfan, who played a cop in the film, managed to weave his magic once again by delivering a stellar performance.

'The Amazing Spiderman'

Post the success of 'Slumdog Millionaire', Irrfan was roped in to play the character of Ranjit Ratha in the Hollywood blockbuster 'The Amazing Spiderman'. Despite limited screen time, Irrfan impressed with his performance.

'Life of Pi'

Irrfan did complete justice to the role of Pi Patel in ace filmmaker Ang Lee's 'Life of Pi'. Another highly appreciated performance by Irrfan, this film fetched him rave reviews from foreign critics and audience alike.

'Jurassic World'

Irrfan played the role of a billionaire, who owned the dinosaur park in the 2015 film 'Jurassic World'. His brilliant performance made him one of the most sought-after Indian actors overseas.

'Inferno'

Irrfan raised the bar set by himself for Inferno in which he shared screen space with two time Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks. The late actor essayed the role of Harry Sims aka The Provost in the mystery-thriller.
