In this highly anticipated bilingual film, Riteish Deshmukh will not only direct but also star as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The project is being mounted on a large scale with an ensemble cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Abhishek Bachchan and Fardeen Khan in key roles. The film aims to depict the early struggles and triumphs of the Maratha ruler. It is slated for release in both Hindi and Marathi, targeting audiences across India.

Release Date: 21 January 2027 (Republic Day weekend)

This historical drama will feature Rishab Shetty as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in an epic retelling of the Maratha king’s life. Directed by Sandeep Singh, the film promises a grand scale with global production values and extensive battle sequences. Akshay Kumar is set to make his Marathi film debut by portraying Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in this historical drama directed by Mahesh Manjrekar.
