From Hrithik Roshan's ‘Fighter’ to untitled film with Prabhas: Deepika Padukone’s upcoming films we can’t wait to watch

Ever since she made her debut with Farah Khan's Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Om Shanti Om in 2007, Deepika Padukone has continued to impress with her choice of films and performance. Be it as the feisty Veronica of 'Cocktail' or the studious Naina in 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', the actress has tried to offer something new with each film. And the same will continue with her upcoming slate of films.

From her dream collaboration with Hrithik Roshan in ‘Fighter’ to reuniting with husband Ranveer Singh in ‘83’ to coming together with Prabhas for the first time in their untitled next, here’s a lowdown on films that the actress has in her kitty:

‘Fighter’

Deepika and Hrithik had been dropping hints about a collaboration since a long time now. After the actress compared him to a Death-by-chocolate cake, the Greek God fed her some chocolate cake at a party and the two have since been indulging in banter on social media. Then, on Hrithik’s birthday earlier this month, the actor announced his next project titled, ‘Fighter’ co-starring Deepika. Directed and produced by Siddharth Anand, the film will release on September 30, 2022.

Prabhas-starrer

Deepika Padukone has been roped in for a Nag Ashwin film where she will be seen sharing screen space with South superstar Prabhas. The makers announced the collaboration last year, welcoming the actress. "Throughout the years, we have had the privilege to work with some extraordinary women. Now, with pride, we welcome Deepika Padukone on our 50-year journey. Bringing together India's biggest Superstars," declared the announcement video.

'83

After captivating the audience with films like ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Padmaavat’, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will be reuniting for Kabir Khan’s ‘83’. The actress is also co-producing the movie. While Ranveer will essay the role of cricketer Kapil Dev in the sports biopic, Deepika will play his onscreen wife Romi Dev. Due to the pandemic, the film that was slated to release last year, was pushed ahead indefinitely.

Shakun Batra’s next

Deepika Padukone is also a part of Shakun Batra’s untitled next where she will be sharing screen space with Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi in lead roles. This is the first time the actors will be seen together on screen. The team resumed shooting of the film post lockdown first in Goa and then in Alibaug.

The Intern

Deepika Padukone announced the official Bollywood remake of the Hollywood film, ‘The Intern’ last year. The film that originally starred Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro was supposed to feature Deepika and Rishi Kapoor in the Hindi remake. Following the demise of the veteran actor, speculations are rife that Amitabh Bachchan might be roped in to replace him. However, there has been no official confirmation on the same as yet.

Mahabharat

In 2019, Deepika Padukone had announced one of her most ambitious films which narrates Mahabharat through Draupadi's perspective. The film, that will be co-produced by Madhu Mantena, was to be released during Diwali 2021 but might be delayed due to the pandemic and lockdown.
