'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' (2011)

The role of Arjun was initially considered to be played nh Ranbir Kapoor but was ultimately played by Hrithik Roshan. The film, directed by Zoya Akhtar, became a cult classic, celebrating friendship and adventure. While Ranbir chose to work on other projects, ZNMD remains one of Bollywood’s most beloved films.

'Gully Boy' (2019)

Before Ranveer Singh took on the role of Murad in 'Gully Boy,' Ranbir Kapoor was offered the film. However, he turned it down believing that it wasn’t the right fit for him at the time. The film, directed by Zoya Akhtar became a massive hit and earned widespread critical acclaim with Ranveer’s performance being hailed as one of his best.

'Dil Dhadakne Do' (2015)

Zoya Akhtar once again approached Ranbir for 'Dil Dhadakne Do,' where he was considered for the role of Kabir, which later went to Ranveer Singh. The multi-starrer, featuring Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Anushka Sharma, was a hit and Ranbir’s presence would have added a different dynamic to the film.

'2 States' (2014)

Ranbir Kapoor was the first choice for the role of Krish Malhotra in '2 States,' based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel. However, he declined the role and Arjun Kapoor was cast instead. The film, co-starring Alia Bhatt, became a box office success and was praised for its engaging love story

'Band Baaja Baaraat' (2010)

Ranbir was approached for the role of Bittoo Sharma in 'Band Baaja Baaraat,' but he passed on it. The film marked Ranveer Singh’s debut, and his energetic performance won audiences over. The film became a surprise hit and established Ranveer as a rising star in Bollywood.
