Filmmakers to take clearance from Tamil Film Producers Council before signing Dhanush; Vishal says 'Nobody can stop any actor from working' - Exclusive

Amid the controversy surrounding South actor Dhanush for taking advance payments and not completing films, L Suresh of the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council has stated that producers should obtain clearance from them before signing the actor.

Suresh noted, "We cannot address the films currently in production as the workers' body would oppose it. However, moving forward, producers should seek clearance from us before signing the actor."

In response, actor Vishal, General Secretary of Nadigar Sangam (the actors' committee), stated, "Nobody can stop any actor from working."



Currently, Dhanush has about five to six films in the pipeline including Kuber with director Shekhar Kammula, a Hindi film with Aanand L Rai, a Tamil biopic on Ilaiyaraaja, his own directorial and production venture Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, and another directorial project likely to be produced by Sun Pictures.

Of these, only Kuber is currently in production, while the others are in pre-production.
