’ in 2012 and since then there has been no looking back for the actors. Both of them have been riding high in their respective careers. They recently came together once again for ‘Bala’ which was again a blockbuster at the box-office.
Speaking exclusively to ETimes about working with Ayushmann, Yami said, “Ayushmann Khurrana is a very good co-star. Nothing much has changed since ‘Vicky Donor’ to ‘Bala’ in terms of our work style. For ‘Vicky Donor’ we had a workshop but for ‘Bala’ we didn’t have anything like that. We only had one reading. He is somebody who is very easy to work with. He comes with his own set of ideas. He comes prepared as the character.”

Elaborating further, she added, “We both have been lucky as well. Our characters ‘Bala’ and ‘Pari’ are poles apart from ‘Vicky’ and ‘Asheeba’. This is one of the reasons I feel this was the right film for us to come back together. Besides we have been very fortunate to be able to work with great writers and filmmakers.”
Yami also opened up about the rave reviews she and her entire team of ‘Bala’ have been receiving post the release and super success of the film. Shedding light on the same, she averred, “Compliments haven’t stopped. Everyone has appreciated and loved the way the character turned out. I treasure all the appreciations I have got as a lot of hard work has gone into that character. This is what you want as an actor. It is gratifying to know when people accept you and they admire your work.”
Directed by Amar Kaushik, ‘Bala’ hit the theatres on November 8, 2019.
Yami will next be seen in ‘Ginny Weds Sunny’ where she will be seen sharing screen space with Vikrant Massey. The two protagonists are teaming up for the first time.
The film marks the directorial debut of Puneet Khanna, who has earlier served as an assistant director in movies like Don, Jodhaa Akbar and Luck By Chance among many others.
