too got henna art done on his palm on the occasion. A source who was present at the venue informed Bombay Times, “Ranbir was excited to get minimal mehendi done on his hand. However, he wasn’t sure about the design. It was Alia who suggested he got something minimalistic designed on his palm. Finally, he went ahead with a heart, which had Alia’s name written on it. A lot of guests chose to have the names of their loved ones designed on their palms. A glimpse of which was seen in case of Neetu Kapoor, who got her late husband Rishi Kapoor’s name on her hand. Interestingly, the mehendi ceremony was hosted on April 13, the day when Neetu got engaged with Rishi and it made her emotional.

Like her, even Kareena Kapoor Khan preferred to have her kids’ names designed on her hands. “From Taimur to Jeh to even her husband Saif (Ali Khan), she had all their names written on her hands,” says the source. Something similar was also seen in case of Mahesh Bhatt who on one hand had his daughter’s name and on the other his son-in-law’s name written on his hands.

Alia’s mom Soni Razdan too went for a simple design and had motifs of lotus across her palms. She didn’t want her mehendi to be loud as she had to resume the shooting of her projects soon.
