Engineer's Day special: Sushant Singh Rajput to Taapsee Pannu - Did you know these actors pursued engineering before getting into Bollywood?

Bollywood celebrities are not just a bunch of talented actors, but many of them are armed with impressive degrees and come from strong academic backgrounds. Several actors have pursued engineering before shifting gears and earning a name in the world of entertainment. On Engineer’s Day, here’s taking a look at Bollywood actors who worked hard to earn a degree but never put it to use as they paved a path of success in films.

Sushant Singh Rajput

Before Sushant Singh Rajput made his way into Bollywood, he dreamt of being an engineer. The later actor was a brilliant student and had scored an All India Rank of 7 in Delhi College of Engineering Entrance Examination in 2003. He then pursued Mechanical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering but dropped out in the third year of college to follow his passion for films.

Taapsee Pannu

Taapsee Pannu is a perfect example of beauty with brains. The actress holds a degree in Computer Science Engineering from the Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology in New Delhi. While speaking to a news portal, Taapsee had revealed that she had developed a mobile application in collaboration with her friends. However the actress quit her love for technology to be the face of entertainment.

Kartik Aaryan

Katrik Aaryan was pursing B.Tech in Biotechnology, while he was also working in films. It turns out the actor actually studied engineering so that he could follow his dreams of acting too. Kartik had told Filmfare in an interview, “I feared my parents would think I’m crazy if I told them I wanted to act. They wouldn’t allow me to leave Gwalior. So I told them I’m going to Mumbai to study engineering.” His mother reportedly insisted that he must complete his education and only then get into movies.

5/6

Kriti Sanon

Kriti Sanon is armed with a BTech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. “I was very 'padhaaku' (studious), at least till the second year of college. I couldn't sleep if I hadn't finished my course. I couldn't eat also. I used to walk and learn things," Kriti told IANS. Shifting attention to films, Kriti marked her debut in Bollywood in 2014 with ‘Heropanti’ alongside Tiger Shroff.

Vicky Kaushal

Before entertaining fans on the silver screen, Vicky Kaushal was an engineering student at Telecommunications from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology in Versova. However, soon after graduating the actor shifted attention to his love for being in front of the camera. “I never pondered during my struggling phase that I should have become an engineer as I knew that was not my life. I couldn't have lived it, it would have been a very claustrophobic life,” Vicky had once told PTI.

poor guys, stuck in drugs and spoiled life. today, distant no more and a permanent injury in his father's and sisters minds. otherwise would have been proud of him and living happily with him.
