Bollywood actress Yami Gautam Dhar is shutting down the online chatter surrounding her recent social media activity. The actress hit the headlines on Thursday, when netizens noticed her 'like' on a post dissing Kriti Sanon's recent acting award win.
The controversy began after social media users noticed that Yami had “liked” an Instagram Reel that appeared to criticise Kriti’s win for her performance in 'Tere Ishk Mein'. The post gave way to fans debating on who they thought was more deserving. The buzz only amplified when netizens noticed Yami had liked the post.

In a tweet, the actress has now responded to the speculation and issued a clarification, saying, "It has come to my notice that I apparently ‘liked’ a reel that is condescending toward another actor. We get tagged in multiple things every day, and this appeared during an award-function reference like any other tag. It isn’t true and was definitely not done consciously, if anything, it may have been clicked accidentally."

The actor also dismissed allegations that her recent activity was a PR stunt. She said, "Never in my life have I resorted to cheap PR tactics. I have always focused on my work and moved on."
She concluded, "I have no PR team, have respectfully cleared my stance on entertainment award shows long ago, and remain focused on my work."

Commenting on the subject of award shows, the actress had shared her views with The Hollywood Reporter India, saying, "You try everything, and it still doesn't work. So, I've stopped seeking any kind of validation."

The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, with some new faces also joining the lineup.
