Dharamshala International Film Festival announces lineup

The 12th edition of Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF) has unveiled its initial lineup for this year's festival.
The film festival is scheduled from November 4 to November 7, 2023, at the Tibetan Children's Village in Dharamshala. The festival will host several events, including film screenings, masterclasses, and discussions.
This year, directors Dominic Sangma, Achal Mishra, and Shahrukhkhan Chavda, Deepa Mehta will attend the film festival. Achal Mishra's Ri will have its World Premiere at DIFF.
Achal Mishra said,"Ri is a journey we took across the mountains of Ladakh and I am grateful that it has found its first home in the mountains at the DIFF."
Dominic Sangma's Garo-language feature film, "Rapture," which premiered at the prestigious Locarno Film Festival and got the Asia Pacific Screen Award for Cultural Diversity, will be screened. Shahrukhkhan Chavda's "Which Colour?," which previously had its international premiere at the 52nd International Film Festival Rotterdam, will be presented along with its cast and crew.
DIFF will showcase the South Asian premiere of "The Buriti Flower" (Crowrã) by João Salaviza and Renée Nader Messora, which received the Cannes Un Certain Regard Ensemble Prize in 2023. The festival will also feature C.J. "Fiery" Obasi's allegorical tale, "Mami Wata," which got the Sundance World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Prize. Iranian-born director Sepideh Farsi's animated feature, "The Siren," originally part of the Panorama section at the Berlin Film Festival, will be presented, as well as the work of the acclaimed Finnish filmmaker Aki Kaurismäki with "Fallen Leaves."
