It's a desi takeover in Hollywood with some of the biggest names in the business venturing Westward and bagging roles in big-budget films. Even though the Covid-19 pandemic may have thrown film release schedules off track, the year still holds promise for Indian stars who are making their mark on the world stage.

Dhanush

South superstar Dhanush is staking his claim over the West with Russo Brothers' big-budget Hollywood film 'The Gray Man'. Going by latest buzz, Dhanush may just play the antagonist, one of the heads of the "kill team", that will have Chris Evans at the helm, on the hunt to take down the character played by Ryan Gosling. The film, that is being made on a huge USD 200 million budget, boasts of an ensemble cast that will also feature Ana de Armas in the lead.

3/6

Priyanka Chopra

There has been just no stopping Priyanka Chopra on her road to global domination. The actress does not have a Bollywood film yet, but that is because she has her calendar full of exciting Hollywood films and web series. Besides bagging a lead role in a Russo Brothers' web series, she will also feature in the fourth instalment of the hit sci-fi film 'The Matrix', alongside Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne-Moss.

4/6

Farhan Akhtar

Farhan Akhtar made jaws drop earlier this month when word got around that he had bagged a role in an upcoming project backed by Marvel Studios. Shortly after the news broke, it was reported that the actor has been signed on for the hugely anticipated series 'Ms Marvel', which stars Iman Vellani as the superheroine, Kamala Khan. Filming is currently underway in Thailand.

Huma Qureshi

Another Bollywood star, who dropped a surprise announcement about her Hollywood debut, was actress Huma Qureshi. In a simple tweet, the star revealed that she will feature in director Zack Snyder's upcoming zombie heist film, 'Army of the Dead'. Although playing a "small part" in the highly anticipated flick, she got her moment to shine in the first trailer.

Ali Fazal

From starring in 'Furious 7' to the Oscar-nominated 'Victoria and Abdul' to now bagging a prominent role in 'Death On The Nile', Ali Fazal has come a long way. Although much about his role in the Kenneth Branagh directorial has been kept under wraps, it has been revealed that Ali will play a significant part. The drama which is an adaptation of Agatha Christie's novel by the same name, also stars Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer.
