Deepika Padukone vs Ajay Devgn to Salman Khan vs Akshay Kumar: Bollywood films set to clash in 2020

Get ready people, because 2020 is going to be an epic time at the box office. Almost all of the biggest stars in the film industry will be going to battle to claim ultimate victory over the ticket windows as more than just a handful of films are gearing up to release on the same day. At this point, with no one ready to throw in the towel, only time will tell which one claims supremacy and which one bites the dust.

Here’s looking at Bollywood films that are set to clash at the box-office in the year ahead.

2/7

'Chhapaak' vs 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior'

A week into 2020 and film lovers will have two films to choose from at the box office. Deepika Padukone will present her film 'Chhapaak', based on the true story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, while Ajay Devgn will give fans a history lesson when he tells the story of 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior'. Both films are milestone films for both stars considering that it marks Deepika's debut production venture and Ajay's 100th film in his career spanning over three decades.

3/7

'Malang' vs 'Aaj Kal'

Valentine's Day 2020 is assured to be a romantic one at the box office with Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan starrer 'Aaj Kal' arriving in theatres along with Disha Patani and Aditya Roy Kapur's love story 'Malang'. Both films will feature two hot young new couples taking over the screen to reportedly tell very different love stories. Nonetheless, we can't wait for this one just to see who is shown more love at the box office.

4/7

'Panga' vs 'Street Dancer 3D'

We haven't really seen anyone go head-to-head with Varun Dhawan or Kangana Ranaut at the box office. Well, it looks like 2020 will change that up a bit. Going by the release dates shared so far, Kangana's sports film 'Panga' will take on Varun's dance flick 'Street Dancer 3D' at the box office. The two share rather friendly ties off-screen, we can only wonder how this one will play out at the ticket windows.

5/7

'Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship' vs 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan'

Vicky Kaushal and Ayushamann Khurrana shared the Best Actor National Award in 2019, and it looks like they will share the same release date for their respective films 'Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship' and 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan'. With both actors on a career-high with back to back film successes, it would be interesting to see which of the two come out victorious in this box office battle.

6/7

'Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai' vs 'Laxmmi Bomb'

In a clash of epic proportions, Akshay Kumar will take on Salman Khan at the box office on Eid 2020. While Akshay initially bowed out of a clash with 'Inshallah' by moving the release of 'Sooryavanshi' on Salman's request, he surprised all when he announced he would be releasing 'Laxmmi Bomb' on Eid once the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film was shelved. Interestingly, Khan had also announced that he will keep his date with the audience and drop his action entertainer 'Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai' on the same day.

7/7

'Toofan' vs 'Sardar Udham Singh' vs 'Satyameva Jayate 2' vs 'Rambo'

Come October 2nd, 2020, fans will be left spoilt for choice with four big-ticket films set to release on the same day. The extended Gandhi Jayanti weekend is assured to be an action-packed one with Farhan Akhtar's boxing drama ‘Toofan’ set to clash with John Abraham’s ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’, Vicky Kaushal’s 'Sardar Udham Singh' and Tiger Shroff’s ‘Rambo’. With four stars locking horns at the box office, it will be interesting to see which one comes out victorious.
