It couldn''t be truer than in Bollywood.

Earlier, a generation meant a Karisma taking after father Randhir or a Kajol taking after mom Tanuja in Bollywood. Now, it means a Kareena stepping into sister Karisma''s stilettos, or Tanisha stepping into elder sis Kajol''s heels.

This Friday will mark the debut of two such star siblings — Amisha Patel''s brother Ashmit in Vikram Bhatt''s thriller Inteha and Kajol''s sprightly sister Tanisha in another thriller Sssshhh...

Both are as different from each other as say, Amisha and Kajol, are. Ashmit looks like a bundle of nerves just days short of the release.

Tanisha makes you feel the sparkle is just one of the qualities she has in common with her sister.

Star siblings, like star sons and daughters, have always been a Bollywood hallmark. The industry''s first family of Kapoors takes the lead.

First, it was Raj Kapoor''s brothers, Shammi and Shashi and then his sons, Randhir, Rishi and Rajeev, who between themselves, ruled Bollywood for decades.

Among the women, it was sisters Nutan and Tanuja. It''s not surprising then, that both of Tanuja''s daughters should choose acting as a career.

Tanisha is quite candid in admitting Kajol and brother-in-law Ajay Devgan''s role in advising her on her career. But Ashmit says Amisha has no role or influence in his career decision. "I just knew acting was my calling," says the 25-year-old, a graduate in finance from Texas, US.

Being a star sibling ensures an easy launch pad, but success is not always a guarantee. Many like Anil Kapoor''s brother Sanjay, Shilpa Shetty''s sister Shamita and Salman''s brother Arbaaz have discovered.

But the technicolour dream that Bollywood is, continues to attract them anyway. Waiting in the wings are Manisha Koirala''s brother Siddharth and Dino Morea''s sibling Santino.
