Bollywood brides who opted for the minimalistic look

Bollywood weddings are always a topic of discussion. Everything, right from what they will wear, the wedding destination, menu and even the guest list, is talked about in excruciating detail. Despite all these discussions, what catches everyone's attention is the bride's attire. While some actresses choose to stun on their wedding day, yet others keep it muted and low-key. Let's take a look at Bollywood actresses who chose to keep it simple on their D-day.

2/7

Mira Rajput

Shahid and Mira's wedding look was as simple as it gets but the couple looked cute nevertheless. In the picture that had been posted online, Mira was seen wearing a pistachio-green churidaar with a shimmering gold kameez and a sunny yellow and pink dupatta with a broad golden border. Interestingly, Mira sported the same maang tika during all the three ceremonies (Sangeet, wedding and mehendi). It was also reported that Mira likes delicate, sparse designs and had hence chosen to with a simple mehendi design on her palms. Not only for the wedding, Mira sported the ‘simple’ look for other ceremonies too.

3/7

Twinkle Khanna

Twinkle Khanna married Akshay Kumar in a private ceremony. Superstar Rajesh Khanna's daughter stuck to favourite bridal colours – red and gold. This color combination is every bride's favourite. Though she sported the typical yet rich combination on her wedding day, she toned down the loud colour and bling with simple jewellery. She was the elegant bride with a statement maang tikka on her forehead, which stood out for its simplicity. Though she sported only a maang tikka, she made for a stunning bride.

4/7

Kareena Kapoor Khan

Kareena Kapoor Khan sported a variety of bridal attires for various ceremonies on her wedding day. But she chose the simple look for the court marriage which took place in the morning. During the wedding registration, Kareena opted for a comfortable green churidar kurta and a contrasting red dupatta. Kareena looked as stunning in the muted appearance as she did in the bridal lehenga. Later, after the wedding, Kareena wore her mother-in-law, Sharmila Tagore's wedding ghagra.

5/7

Minissha Lamba

Not opting for either a salwaar kameez or a churidar kurta, Minissha Lamba kept it simple in a pair of jeans that she coupled with a peach-coloured top. Minissha's wedding with long term boyfriend, Ryan Tham was a hush-hush affair. Family, close relatives and friends were invited for their wedding lunch after Minissha and Ryan’s marriage was officiated in city court. The news got out when Pooja Bedi, who is Ryan’s cousin, broke the news on Twitter by posting a tweet welcoming the new bride to their family.

6/7

Kalki Koechlin

Kalki Koechlin and Anurag Kashyap tied the knot in the South of India. Their wedding was a simple South Indian affair. Kalki wore a traditional South Indian style white and red Kanjeevaram saree. She carried off the rather simple attire with oodles of confidence. However, she sported a glamorous lehenga for the post-wedding party. Kalki kept the look minimal with less accessories and even lesser make-up. The effect was indeed gorgeous!

7/7

Sridevi

Only one wedding picture of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor is available. The bubbly actress chose a very simple attire for her wedding. Sridevi's wedding was a typical South Indian affair and the actress sported a red golden South Indian saree with minimal ornaments. While Sridevi chose to go sans jewellery, her million dollar smile and bright red lipstick was enough to light up the entire room. As they say, when you are happy, you glow!
