‘Shikhar’

Subhash Ghai made a public announcement of 'Shikhar' with Shah Rukh Khan and Jackie Shroff. Songs for the movie were recorded, and the mahurat was held to indicate that the film was going to begin production. After the failure of 'Trimurti,' Ghai chose to shelve the expensive movie and went on to direct 'Pardes' instead.

‘Time Machine’

Shekhar Kapur's ambitious sci-fi effort, 'Time Machine,' was ahead of its time and starred Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon, Rekha, and Naseeruddin Shah. The movie was different; it envisioned time travel in Bollywood as more than a throw-away joke. However, after a few months of shooting, Kapur left the project, and budgetary concerns kept the movie on the shelf.

‘Shoebite’

Shoojit Sircar's 'Shoebite,' featuring Amitabh Bachchan, is one of the most notorious unreleased films of recent times. Based on M. Night Shyamalan's story 'Labor of Love,' the film was completed but ultimately never saw the light of day due to a legal dispute between two production companies over rights. Despite petitions for the release of the film from Amitabh Bachchan and Shoojit Sircar, it has been sealed away.

‘Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai’

This courtroom comedy directed by Ravi Chopra starred Govinda, Tabu, Lara Dutta, and Boman Irani. It was completed, but a lawsuit from 20th Century Fox occurred due to it being "too similar" to the classic Hollywood film, 'My Cousin Vinny.' The matter was eventually sorted; however, the film was never released.

‘Munna Bhai Chale America’

After the massive success of 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai,' a teaser was released for the sequel, 'Munna Bhai Chale America.' This teaser created excitement. However, the film was shelved due to Sanjay Dutt's legal issues and script challenges. Rajkumar Hirani moved on to other projects, and this sequel became a dream that was never realized.

‘Ladies Only’

The Hindi remake of Kamal Haasan's Tamil hit 'Magalir Mattum,' directed and produced by Haasan, starred Randhir Kapoor, Seema Biswas, and Shilpa Shirodkar. It was reported that the movie was shot, or nearly shot, but was shelved inexplicably and was not released in theaters.
