‘Baahubali: The Eternal War’ teaser takes internet by storm; Fans of 'Arcane' and 'Spider-Verse' say 'This looks INSANE'
Move over the 'Spider-Verse', all eyes have now turned to India with the internet in collective awe of the animated spinoff 'Baahubali: The Eternal War'. The teaser that dropped this week, expands S.S. Rajamouli’s world of Baahubali to give fans of the franchise an all-new experience with their breathtaking animation.
Three years after Rajamouli’s 'RRR' hit a golden run at the world-wide box office, the filmmaker pulled off another surprise on his fans, by presenting them with an epic story with next-generation animation.
The project, produced by Arka MediaWorks, reimagines the Indian saga through a new lens, which fans and netizens are confident will rival the worlds of 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' and Netflix’s 'Arcane'.
Another tweeted, “The level of animation is really gonna be levelled up!! The studio that worked on Arcane is working on this project and that too presented by @ssrajamouli enough reason to hit theatres in 2027!”
Rajamouli steps back from directing to hand over the reins of 'The Eternal War' to 'Star Wars: Visions' director Ishan Shukla who co-wrote the film with 'The Grinch' co-director Scott Mosier.
Fans could not stop gushing over the visuals. “Never thought I’d see Arcane-level animation in an Indian production,” wrote one user, while another added, “Honestly, this one’s detailing feels on par — or even better — than the whole rough-art vibe of Across the Spider-Verse.”
With Prabhas returning to voice Amarendra Baahubali and Ramya Krishna reprising her role as Sivagami, nostalgia and excitement have collided into a perfect storm. “Every frame screams epicness,” a fan declared. “#Prabhas is one fearless hero — the only face of Indian cinema. Producers are Baahubali in real life for giving us this gift.”
“The anime community is going wild,” one user wrote.
