Ayushmann also revealed that the script is the most important element, when it comes to choosing films. He look at stories as a layman and an audience member and takes up offers of films that he would like to see himself. He is happy that his choices as an actor have been accepted. He also spoke about how the two directors he worked with this year, Sriram Raghavan and Amit Sharma, are poles apart. According to Ayushmann, Sriram is spontaneous and non-filmi,while Amit is a perfectionist and versatile filmmaker.

The actor is now looking forward to doing more new-age cinema. In the coming year, the actor will be seen in 'Bala', a film that will be helmed by 'Stree' director Amar Kaushik. He will also feature in 'Dream Girl'.
