Ashish Chanchlani lost over 30 kgs in 6 months: Here’s how Shah Rukh Khan sparked his fitness journey
Popular YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, known for his hilarious videos, recently left fans buzzing after posting a cheerful photo with Elli AvRam. His caption, simply saying “Finally❤️✨”, sparked a flurry of rumours that they might be making their relationship official. This wasn’t the first time Ashish shocked his fans, last year he left fans speechless when he revealed a remarkable weight loss transformation.
The social media star lost over 30kgs in just six months, proving that with the right mindset and routine, anything is possible. From once weighing about 130 kg, Ashish decided to step into his thirties as a healthier, more energetic version of himself.
The turning point: Ashish’s moment in front of the mirror
Ashish opened up about what pushed him to finally take charge. In an interview with Hindustan Times, he shared that he felt deeply unhappy with his body. He said standing in front of the mirror one day, he was hit by a wave of disappointment. Years of planning and failed attempts to lose weight all came crashing down in that single moment.
Adding to this, he was also dealing with personal struggles that left him feeling even more low. That’s when he made up his mind, he didn’t want to enter his thirties still carrying that burden. His new mission was clear, to bring his weight into double digits before he turned 30.
A balanced plan: No crash diets, no crazy workouts
Unlike many who try extreme diets or punishing gym routines, Ashish chose a smart, balanced approach. He knew real change meant staying consistent with both food and exercise. His main focus was on eating meals rich in protein, with good fats and fibre, and very few carbs. He made sure his plate had all the right things to keep his energy steady and help his body recover.
What Ashish ate in a day
As reported by Economic Times, Ashish shared a clear idea of what his daily meals looked like:
Breakfast: Six boiled eggs or a protein-filled omelette, often with sprouts on the side.
Lunch: A single roti with about 200 grams of grilled chicken, plus fresh juices like cucumber or celery.
Evening: A whey protein shake around 6 PM, helping with muscle repair and keeping hunger away.
Dinner: Another helping of chicken but no carbs, making it light yet packed with protein.
Over time, Ashish became so used to this that he didn’t even need a scale—he could simply look at his plate and know how many calories were there.
Cheat meals done right: Sundays for sweets!
Even with his strict routine, Ashish didn’t believe in saying no to everything he loved, especially sweets. Sundays were his happy days, where he would reward himself with two pieces of his favourite sweet. To keep things balanced, he’d make tiny adjustments earlier in the day, like skipping a roti, to make sure his treat didn’t ruin his calorie target.
The surprise spark: A few words from Shah Rukh Khan
Ashish once shared on Instagram how he attended a ‘Raees’ exhibitor party with his dad, where he finally met Shah Rukh Khan. Being his usual witty yet caring self, SRK gently touched Ashish’s belly and advised him to lose weight, saying it would bring out the best in him. Ashish recalled, “The moment I approached him, SRK sir held my belly and told me: ‘Ashish tum yaar please wazan kam karo, bahut ache lagoge main guarantee deta hu, jao yaar aaj hi gym jao, bas isse andar karo. Cute toh tum ho ab time aa gaya hai fit ho jao, zindagi nai badli toh main advice dena band kar dunga.’”
